SUBTLY STYLING BOLD PRINTS AND PATTERNS

Animal prints, plaid, floral, and polka-dots are HUGE trends to look for this fall/winter season. For some, prints and patterns can be pretty scary. It's bold, sassy, and can be challenging to style sometimes-who would want that? (me lol.) I personally LIVE in statement pieces, I feel a good print/pattern makes an everyday ensemble a tad more intriguing. I am more myself when I work some polka-dots or cheetah print into my whole look. When I walk into a room with a daring pattern or chic print I think to myself "yea i'm here, i'm important, i'm fabulous!"
Of course there are many, many ways to achieve a fab look with patterns and prints, and it's important to find the way that best suits you. Find the way that makes you feel confident and stylish without over-doing or under-doing it.. So today I am sharing with you some of my favorite ways I incorporate prints and patterns into my style. Some of these looks I'm sharing with you today are wearable for the current summer heat, and some looks are prepping for when it gets a little colder.

THROW IT ON TOP
One of the easiest ways to dress up jeans and a pretty white blouse... I love the juxtaposition of feminine lace and an aggressive cheetah print!
Adding minimal accessories keeps it easy and lets the print do the talking.

Throwing a simple pattern over a neutral outfit breaks up the look and adds a little something extra. I paired my fav boxy plaid blazer, over this all black attire for a serious #girlboss look.
The fanny pack, shades, and silver dangle earrings gives the look a futuristic appeal and is very on trend.

BOLD BUT CASUAL
Pairing statement pants with a graphic tee and trainers is one of my usual ways of wearing prints, Its effortless and comfy, but it still looks like you tried.

Now I am going to show you some ways I mix and match prints. This is scary, even to me sometimes. Knowing how to work with colors is key for being able to pull this look off!

A FLUID COLOR SCHEME
For this outfit, I paired a subtle polka-dot print with a bold red plaid skirt. I used my beret and purse to make the red stand out for an eye-catching ensemble. I used the black lace up shoes to tie in the black polka-dots in the top and continue the feminine vibes throughout. Since both the top and bottom's base color were white; they paired together nicely.

I stuck with red and white again for this look. (Red is my fav color, can you tell? Not to mention it was all over this fall/winter NY fashion week and im already loving it!) The hints of red in the floral blouse pairs sweetly with the red gingham shorts. This time, Instead of pairing red accessories, I paired neutral colored accessories to allow the red shorts to contrast the simple innocence of the rest of the look.
I also feel I should mention this look is my full summer aesthetic, always ready for a picnic!

MATCHY MATCHY
Polka-dots, on top of polka-dots, on top of polka-dots and more polka-dots! This look is for my girls who ain't afraid of no pattern! Matching similar patters is easy if you stick with neutral colors, I decided to stick with an all black and white ensemble. Working color into a look like this, is simply done with a pop of color accessory. I went for bright orange shades that complemented my 90s inspired slip dress.
I feel that my polka-dot tights MADE this look and bold tights are also mega on trend this fall/winter season.
